Tree Ferns Overview
Dicksonia is a genus of around 25 primitive, semi-evergreen or evergreen rhizomatous tree ferns from sheltered forest habitats in tropical and temperate locations of Southeast Asia, Australasia and South America. Dicksonia plants are commonly known as Tree Ferns. Foliage is 2-4 pinnate and leathery in texture and these trees can reach a maximum height of 15m. Multiple species in this genus are cultivated and they make brilliant specimen trees and may be grown outside in frost-free locations.
