Aztec Lily Overview
Sprekelia formosissima is a bulbous flowering perennial in the Amaryllis family, from Central America. It is commonly cultivated as a houseplant and known by a range of common names including Aztec lily and St James lily. They produce tall spikes of solitary, red orchid-like flowers measuring 12cm across. Typical growing height is around 35cm high. These are held above glossy, narrow, strap-like leaves. In warmer climates, they can be grown outside.
