Locust Trees Overview

Robinia is a genus containing around 4 hardy, deciduous shrubs and trees that produce clustered, pea-shaped, hanging, white or pink flowers and alternate, pinnately divided foliage with 7-21 leaflets. Branches are notably brittle in this genus, so they should be planted in sheltered locations away from strong winds. These plants are commonly known as Locust Trees, Locusts and some may be called False Acacia.
