Yucca 'Jewel' Overview

Yucca elephantipes 'Jewel' is a variegated evergreen large shrub or tree species that has an upright growth habit and multiple trunks. Typically this cultivar doesn't branch much, producing hard, leathery, strap-shaped green foliage that has cream stripes and can grow to 1m in length. The flower spikes are only produced on mature plants and are covered in cream-white coloured flowers in summer. Also known as Yucca 'Jewel', this drought-resistant plant prefers south or east-facing spots in full sun with well-drained soil and will need winter protection from frosts. Its striking sword-shaped foliage adds architectural interest to urban courtyard spaces, patios, containers and conservatories. Not needing regular pruning, spent flower spikes and damaged leaves can be removed in spring. Water regularly during the summer, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings.
