Caesalpinia is a genus containing over 160 species of deciduous or evergreen climbing, woody shrubs and trees. Native to tropical and subtropical climates in rocky, scrubland and low forest areas. They are typically grown for their foliage, which resembles ferns and their flowers, which are large, ornate and colourful, in shades of red, orange and yellow.
