Aubrieta is a genus of around 20 hardy, evergreen, perennial species. Originally from Southern Europe and Asia, this genus has been cultivated for its attractive flowers and is now commonly found throughout Europe. They are spreading, creeping species with lots of small purple, pink or white flowers. This genus can cope with a wide range of conditions, but tends to grow best in rocky areas and embankments in well-draining soil.
