Lucky Bamboo Overview
Dracaena sanderiana is commonly known by the names Lucky Bamboo and Ribbon Plant, amongst others. It is an evergreen perennial from the Asparagaceae family, originating from Central Africa. Despite the common names, this plant is not a true bamboo and it is also often confused with the related Dracaena braunii They are hard to distinguish between without the flowers, which are significantly shorter in this species compared to Dracaena braunii. Its is commonly grown as a houseplant for the attractive leaves, which are often all green or variegated with creamy-white to yellow. This plant is tolerant of some forgetful watering and copes well with dry air. Grow in partial shade and avoid placing in strong sunlight as this can damage the leaves.
