Sage 'Royal Bumble' Overview
Salvia 'Royal Bumble' is an attractive cultivar that is also known by the common name sage 'Royal Bumble'. It typically grows to around 75cm tall, producing aromatic, shiny green leaves. Flowers are large and bright red in colour, with purple-black stems and flower bases. These are long-lasting, flowering starts in late spring and extends through to autumn. It has a bushy habit and is hardy to -10 degrees Celsius, plant in a position of full sun, in moist, well-draining soil for optimal growth. This cultivar has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit. It is also part of the RHS “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants that support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden! Evergreen unless subjected to harsh frosts.

Softwood cuttings are best taken from the base in early summer. Semi-ripe cuttings can be taken from late summer-autumn and these do best when provided with bottom heat.
