Lungwort Overview
Pulmonaria is a genus of around 15 hardy, rhizomatous perennials with some semi-evergreen species. They produce showy blue, purple, white or pink-red blooms which are funnel-shaped. These are generally short plants and they grow best in shaded conditions, forming rosettes in clumps. Commonly called Lungwort, species in this genus are covered in different length hairs which also have different degrees of rigidity.
