This is an upright deciduous perennial. It will produce tall racemes of multicoloured flowers, which will prefer cool climates. The seeds of the young plants can be poisonous if ingested. You will need to provide good air circulation and try to plant the cultivars that are pest and disease resistant as they are prone to pests and diseases. This perennial will need a well drained rich soil, that has been supplemented with an organic matter.
