Celery Overview
Genus of around 17 biennial or perennial flowering plants distributed widely across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and South America. Typically they grow to around 1m in height and have adapted from moist marsh and salt marsh environments. Foliage is divided pinnately to bipinnately and flowers are small, white and arranged in compound umbels. Contains multiple edible species, of commercial importance such as celery, celeriac and Chinese celery.
