Fuchsia venusta Overview
Fuchsia venusta is an uncommon evergreen species in the evening primrose family, Onagraceae. Flowers are tubular and bright orange in colour. It has a clumping, bushy habit and is half-hardy, coping with temperatures as low as -5 degrees Celsius, plant in a position of full or partial sun, in moist, well-draining soil for optimal growth. The orange flowers measure approximately 5cm in length, these are borne at the tips of branches, they are graceful, with a long tubular structure and this species is known to attract hummingbirds. Flowers lead on to edible purple fruits. This species is resistant to Fuchsia Gall Mite.
