Fragaria genus containing around 22 perennial plants in the Rosaceae family. These plants have a worldwide distribution. Known commonly as Strawberry or Strawberries, this genus includes many cultivars and hybrids bred commercially for their edible fruits. They are characterised by their three-lobed leaves and creeping habit, spreading through runners, producing offsets that root rapidly, forming new plants. They prefer full sun and can be grown in containers, grow-bags or in the ground.
