Silverbell tree Overview

A small genus of deciduous shrubs and small trees in the Styracaceae family native to Eastern Asia and Eastern North America with 4 accepted species. Commonly known as silverbell, they are cultivated for their clusters of delicate pendulous bell-shaped flowers in white or pink followed by distinctive winged seeds. They prefer a shady position in acid soil, perfect for woodland planting.
