Broom Overview

Genus of approximately 14 deciduous or evergreen trees, shrubs and subshrubs from Europe and the Canary Islands. Some species have spines and all produce pretty, pea-shaped flowers, frequently in yellow, pink, purple or white colours. Foliage is alternate, palm-shaped and sometimes hairy. There are around 4 hybrid species described.
