African violet Overview
This genus consists of about 20 species of low-growing, rosette-forming, evergreen perennials. The flowers are 5-petalled, and the leaves are succulent and usually hairy. They will produce showy foliage, and the flowers will bloom in various colours.
How to propagate African violet
In the summer, take leaf cuttings rooted in water or stuck in a layer of pebbles on top of a moist sand and peat mixture.
