Carrion Flower Overview
Orbea is a genus that contains around 60 succulent species from the Apocynaceae (dogbane) family, native to Africa. They are leafless clump-forming perennials with fleshy, toothed stems and striking star- or open funnel-shaped flowers in a variety of colours, and sometimes with contrasting spots or blotches and a pungent scent. They are popular in cultivation, commonly grown as glasshouse specimens or as houseplants. Perhaps the most well-known Orbea species is O. variegata, having been in cultivation the longest.
