Aglaonema modestum
This erect perennial species from the Araceae family is native to the tropical swamps and rainforests of southeastern Asia. Lance-shaped, glossy leaves with wavy margins are produced on leaf stalks that are between 10–20 cm. In summer, mature plants produce an arum-shaped flowerhead, which consists of a white or yellow spathe with a central stalked spadix. When grown indoors, this plant is grown for its foliage.
