Red Bistort 'Blackfield' Overview
Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Blackfield' is a semi-evergreen perennial with a robust, clumping growth habit. Foliage is oval to heart-shaped, pointed and slightly puckered, coloured green and measuring around 10cm in length. Commonly known as Red Bistort 'Blackfield' or Persicaria 'Blackfield', it grows to around a metre tall, bearing clusters of bell-shaped, dark red flowers which are approximately 10cm long. This plant is part of the Royal Horticultural Society “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden! This cultivar is protected under intellectual property laws by Plant Breeders' Rights.
