Nightshade Overview

Atropa is a small genus consisting of less than 5 recognised species of herbaceous perennials. They have large leaves and produce dark-coloured, toxic, shiny berries from discrete purple-red bell-shaped flowers. Temperate conditions are ideal, combined with alkaline soils should produce optimal growth. Naturally they are found in light woodland of mountainous areas.
