Golden apple Overview
Genus containing over 15 species of evergreen, usually spiny, trees and shrubs that are characterised by their production of citrus fruits. Simple, alternate leaves on winged branches and small, white scented flowers are common features of most of the species, many of them being commercially important food crops - including oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruit. They can take up to a year to develop into edible fragrant citrus fruits. Grown outdoors in warm climates, citrus are popular patio or pot plants that can be brought indoors in Winter, in cooler regions.
