Sesbania Overview

Genus also known as riverhemp, contains approximately 56 evergreen perennials, shrubs and small trees. Originating from moist environments, often near rivers, this genus is distributed across tropical and subtropical climates. Favoured for its pea-like, brightly coloured red, yellow or white flowers. Foliage is pinnately divided into many leaflets and arranged alternately. In frost-prone climates this genus is best grown in a greenhouse or conservatory, in milder climates may be placed against a sheltered sunny wall.
