Alpine totara Overview
There are about 100 species in this genus, they are moderately fast-growing evergreen conifers which vary in size. The leaves are flat and usually narrow. Like most conifers they produce woody cones.

Propagate by seed sown in autumn or spring (but forms selected for leaf colour do not come true).
Evergreen current growth cuttings in autumn to spring. Deciduous softwood cuttings in summer.
