Palm-Leaf Marsh Mallow Overview

Althaea officinalis is a herbaceous perennial that forms a woody base, from the Malvaceae family. Commonly known by the name Palm-Leaf Marsh-mallow, it can easily reach 2m in height. Originating from Europe to Afghanistan, it produces pretty 5-petalled, pink flowers from summer-autumn. The flowers measure between 3-5cm in diameter. Foliage is hairy and lobed, leaves measure up to 35cm in length.
