Overview

Lapeirousia anceps is a cormous perennial in the iris family, Iridaceae. It is endemic to sub-Saharan Africa and thrives in dry, arid conditions. This plant is deciduous and thus loses its green foliage in the autumn and regrows new leaves in the spring. It produces showy, white flowers which are symmetrical in 1 plane, down the centre, termed bilaterally symmetrical. Foliage is flattened, narrow and often pleated.
