Shingle Plant Overview

Monstera dubia is an interesting perennial climber from the Araceae family. Also known by the common name Shingle Plant, this is one of the more unusual Monstera species you can grow. It is popular with aroid enthusiasts, typically grown for the foliage over the flowers, which are rarely seen in cultivation. Originating from Mexico, this tropical plant is found naturally in southern Tropical America and Trinidad. It grows in a shingle-like manner up the trunks of trees in its native habitat and grows best as a houseplant when provided with a solid support to shingle up.
