    Hop Overview

    A small genus containing 3 species of herbaceous climbers in the Cannabaceae family native to the Northern Hemisphere where they are found in temperate zones. H. lupulus, also known as common hop, is widely cultivated for the brewing industry. They have deeply lobed, palmate leaves and small green flowers. In the garden they are grown as fast, vigorous climbers that can rapidly clothe a wall.
