Christmas Box Overview

Sarcococca is a genus containing around 14 species commonly called Sweet Box or Christmas Box. Sweet Box plants are compact evergreen shrubs in the box family native to East and Southeast Asia. They are cultivated for their heavily fragrant flowers that are borne in the Winter and early Spring, followed by colourful berries. Sarcococca prefer a shady position and a fertile moist, but well-drained soil but are especially useful as they can tolerate a certain amount of neglect.
