Euphorbia lenewtonii Overview

Euphorbia lenewtonii is a tender succulent perennial species native to Tanzania. This compact branching shrub has cylindrical stems that are yellow-green in colour with raised tubercle 'teeth' spaced about 1cm apart in a spiral pattern around each branch. White downward-pointing spines roughly 0.5cm in length appear from each tooth with two shorter spines [0.2cm] pointing upward. It has an upright habit, but lower branches extend sidewards and will root freely when in contact with the soil, quickly creating a wide clump. In spring, yellow flowers can appear that can develop into green-dark red fruits.
