Cosmos 'Lemon Sherbet' Overview

Cosmos bipinnatus 'Xanthos' is a half-hardy, upright, annual cultivar that produces eye-catching, soft lemon-yellow coloured flowers, that fade to white around the edges of the petals. They have a bright yellow centre. These daisy-like blooms typically appear from summer through to autumn. They seem to 'float' above branched, feathery-leaved stems. Suited to a sunny border or patio container, Cosmos 'Xanthos' (the shorter name by which it's commonly known) attracts a wide variety of pollinating insects, and it is on the RHS 'Plants for Pollinators' list. As well as being great for wildlife, it is an easy-to-grow, versatile annual that makes a good cut flower. Also commonly known as Cosmos 'Lemon Sherbet', it is an eye-catching, long-flowering choice for your garden that likes a position in full sun and moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil.
