Podocarpus is a large genus containing around 115 widely distributed evergreen conifers in the Podocarpaceae family. They can be shrubs or trees, generally dioecious, and most have spirally-arranged needles and, where male and female specimens are grown together, oval, fleshy fruits. Commonly known by the names Yellowwood, Podocarp, Podocarpus Conifers and Pine. They are popular in cultivation with many varieties available grown either as screening or hedging plants or for their neat, compact shrubby habit and foliage with good autumn colour.
How to propagate Yellowwood
Propagate by seed sown in autumn or spring (but forms selected for leaf colour do not come true).
Evergreen current growth cuttings in autumn to spring. Deciduous softwood cuttings in summer.
