White Batflower Overview

Tacca integrifolia is an unusual plant that produces amazing, large, white and purple-black, spider-like flowers with long whisker-like structures. Commonly known by the names White Batflower, Bat Plant and Cat's Whiskers, amongst others. Originating from tropical regions in Southeast Asia, the natural range of this species includes Thailand, Malaysia, and southern China in the Yunnan Province. This tender, rhizomatous perennial likes high humidity and partially shaded conditions, grow in moist, well-draining soil for optimal growth.
