Purslane Overview

Claytonia is a genus of under 30 evergreen perennial and annual species, some of which are consumed as leaf vegetables. Originally from mountainous areas in Asia and North America, this genus has been widely naturalised in Western Europe. Flowers are small and pretty, in shades of white, pink and purple and foliage is large leaved and succulent.
