Cascabela thevetia Overview
Cascabela thevetia is an evergreen shrub or tree species in the Apocynaceae family. Originating from Mexico to Tropical South America, it is commonly known by the names Yellow Oleander and Lucky Nut. This plant can grow to a height of 10m, producing shiny green stems containing a toxic milky sap, these stems develop a brown colouration with age. This plant is considered invasive by the Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International (CABI). It forms dense thickets and may displace native wildlife.
