Stachys byzantina 'Silver Carpet' is a softly hairy perennial cultivar in the Lamiaceae family. This woolly, silvery-white perennial creates a mat of fuzz leaves that form a distinctive ground cover. Leaves typically measure around 10cm in length. It can produce erect spikes of whorled, 2 lipped grey-purple flowers. Avoid planting in locations with excessive winter wet. This cultivar is part of the Royal Horticultural Society “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden!
