Orange Cone Flower Overview

Rudbeckia fulgida resides in the Asteraceae family of daisies. It is a rhizomatous perennial with hairy leaves and a branching, bushy habit. Flowers are yellow and daisy-like in appearance. They consist of brown central disco florets and bright, rich yellow ray florets. These are produced from mid-summer through to early autumn. It has a bushy habit and is hardy to -20 degrees Celsius, plant in a position of full or partial sunlight, in moist, well-draining soil for optimal growth. This species is part of the Royal Horticultural Society “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden!
