Overview

Prunus rufa is small deciduous tree with a round headed habit. It has an attractive glossy dark red bark that peels easily making it an ideal addition to sensory gardens. In spring it produces small white flowers that can develop into dark red fruit.

Common problems

Can be attacked by leaf mining moths, bullfinches and caterpillars. It can also suffer from bacterial canker, blossom wilt & silver leaf.
