Rock rose Overview
Helianthemum is a genus of spreading or bushy evergreen shrubs (and a few herbs) in the Cistaceae family native to parts of the Northern Hemisphere with a centre of diversity in the Mediterranean. There are 73 accepted species in this genus characterised by their papery, saucer-shaped flowers in Spring and Summer. Commonly known as rock rose, they are popular rock garden plants in cultivation and there are numerous cultivars and hybrids available.

Grown for their flowers. Is useful for rock gardens and dry banks and ground cover. Suitable for coastal conditions.
