Swarthmoor Hall

An old stone building
Swarthmoor Hall is a 16th century country house set in beautiful gardens with views to neighboring fells and close to the market town of Ulverston. Visitors speak about the Hall's tranquility. In the 17th century the Hall's owners. Thomas and Margaret Fell, offered protection and hospitality to early Quakers, including its founder George Fox. There are six historic rooms to view with a fine selection of 17th century furniture, textiles and ceramics. Younger visitors can enjoy our 'horrid history' tour, or 'seek and find' game. We look forward to welcoming you.
