Bishop's Palace & Gardens
The Bishop’s Palace & Gardens have been home to the Bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years and this stunning medieval palace is open for all to enjoy. There are 14 acres of outstanding, RHS Partner gardens to explore, including the beautiful well pools from which the city takes its name, family events, guided tours, a gift shop and a café with the best views in Wells!

The Bishop's Table caféServing delicious, locally-sourced homemade food and some of the best coffee and cake you will find in Wells, it is the perfect place to meet friends for brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. Summer (April - October): 9.30am - 5.30pm, last orders 5:30pm. Winter (Nov '19 - March '20): 9.30am - 3.30pm, last orders 3:30pm. Food is served between 12pm and 2.30pm daily throughout the year. Breakfast is served between 9.30am and 11.30am daily.
Chapel10am-4pm (winter) 10am-6pm (summer) Last admission to The Bishop’s Palace, and therefore including the Bishop’s Chapel, is half an hour before closing. Services weekly Tuesday at Noon. A short time of prayer and praise at 12 noon. All are welcome. There are occasionally other services open to the public. Please check the web site for details.
ShopDaily: 10am - 6pm (summer. Apr - Oct), 10am - 4pm (winter. Nov - March).
SUMMER 10am – 6pm, 7 days per week (from 31 March 2019 - 26 October 2019). WINTER 10am – 4pm, 7 days per week (from 27 October 2019 through to 28 March 2020). Last admission is 30 minutes before closing time.
