Vast parkland and woodland estate in the Cotswolds.
About Westonbirt Arboretum
Discover 600 acres of spectacular Cotswolds countryside at one of the UK’s top outdoor attractions. Westonbirt is famous for its autumn colour, with the stunning Acers - which line 17 miles of snaking paths - turning burnished bronze in October, but there are plenty of other reasons to visit. The treetop walkway which takes visitors right up into the canopy along a beautifully-designed aerial path is a notable attraction - a big hit with kids of any age. Then there’s the Gruffalo Trail - perfect for toddlers - and the grassy fields, which are great for picnics.
Explore the wider woodlands and you’ll see that the Arboretum is also ideal for dog-lovers, with your furry friend allowed off the leash in the entire Silk Wood area. Those who prefer their walks dog-free can head to the Old Arboretum - a vast section of parkland, rich in nature where dogs aren’t permitted. This area is also notable for the wide variety of non-native trees on display, which are helpfully labelled, so you can find inspiration for the home garden.
This huge estate is a great place to meet up for a family get-together, being suited to all ages and located just 20 mins from the M4 and 25 mins from the M5. Parking is free and you can order tasty food from the Kitchen, pick up sandwiches from the Pantry, or get freshly-cooked pizza from the Smokehouse.
