Vibrant garden with annual art exhibitions.
Culture vultures flock to Delamore in May to discover new and emerging artists at the popular annual art and sculpture exhibition. But this also happens to be the only time Delamore is open and there is plenty of beauty to be found off the canvas too.
Located on the fringes of Dartmoor, the estate’s gardens feature large flowering ancient Rhododendrons and colourful Azaleas, while mature parkland trees and well-tended flowerbeds make a fine backdrop for the work on display.
This traditional agricultural Dartmoor estate has remained in the same family since 1688, so they know how to put on a good show. At the cosy café, the food is always homemade and the welcome is always filled with warmth.
As usual, in 2021, the garden is only open during May - the rhododendrons, camellias and Azaleas are at their best at that time in addition to the excellent art and sculpture exhibition.
