This variety of Japanese Wisteria is easily distinguished by its abundant flowering in May and June. It bears flowers in bunches similar to more typical wisteria species but they are fuller and more prolific. Precocious blooming begins during the 1st or 2nd year. Lightly fragrant, two-tone, lilac-blue flowers with distinctive lemon blotches open gradually from the base of the pendulous racemes.
The branches of these exuberant plants twist around their support, making them ideal for embellishing walls, gates, fences, pergolas, railings, bannisters, pillars, or even leaving them to climb and twist themselves around trunks and branches of other trees. This adaptable shrub will also grow harmoniously on its own. In any case, it makes a perfect plant for the most modern to the most traditional of gardens. This Japanese Wisteria also makes a worthy choice for sunny walls and fences. The fragrant pea-like flowers are produced profusely from a young age. Wisteria floribunda 'Domino' is reliable and showy and well worth growing.
Plant Size and Appearance - Like all plants, the sizes will vary and are approximate. Where a height is given, this will include the pot. Images shown are for guidance only and show what can be expected as the plant matures. Plants supplied will vary as to the season, may have been pruned (as per good horticultural practice), and may be dormant in winter.
