An architectural treat for the garden.
This frost-hardy Phormium is a perennial with large strap-like leaves striped in rose pink, bronze and green - looking stunning all year round.
In a hot summer, a thick spike will arise from the centre of the plant, which carries lots of yellow-green airy flowers. You can be sure of a great garden plant when it carries the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Perfect in containers and borders, Phormiums may require protection in particularly wet and cold winters, especially in the north of the country, but if planted in free-draining soil, it should be fine.
No pruning is required; simply remove any faded leaves at the base and cut off any flower stems after flowering.
Supplied in a 4.5-litre pot approximately as a multi-stemmed shrub 40-60cm tall.
