£2.49
1
Approved Suttons Seeds Retailer. Average Packet Content 300 seeds Part of the James Wong Grow For Flavour Range. James says - ‘Fancy Italian leaves with a refreshing crunch and grown up hint of bitterness’. The bitter flavour and intense colour of radicchio are caused by high levels of antioxidants. A wonderful contrast to many of the sugary sweet flavours of the season, like apples and pears. Harvest August to February. Growing Information: Sow thinly into finely raked, warm, weed-free, moist soil at a depth of 6-12mm (¼-½") in rows about 30cm (12") apart. Germination 8-20 days. Thin seedlings by degrees to 20cm (8") between plants. Grows best in well cultivated soil. Water freely during periods of dry weather. Not frost hardy so protect with cloches to prolong the season. N.B. Recommended only as an autumn vegetable. Earlier sowings may induce bolting (running to seed). Sowing to Cropping: 14-16 weeks.
