Bright yellow blooms that capture attention
Perfect for a cottage garden
Magnets for pollinating insects
A vibrant Arctic Poppy with bright yellow blooms that really stand out. Poppy 'Mongolia' is a tall cultivar with sturdy upright stems that make superb cut flowers. Plant them in dense groups towards the middle of cottage garden borders for a beautiful summer display. These seeds are handy in the kitchen too, as they're delicious when sprinkled on bread, cakes and biscuits.
Arctic Poppy loves to self seed and is also an excellent choice for wildlife areas where the blooms will provide a good supply of nectar for pollinating insects. Flowers May-August. Height 60-70cm (24-28"); spread 20-30cm (8-12").
Growing Information
Sow thinly into finely raked, warm, moist soil at a depth of 6mm (½") in rows about 30cm (12") apart, raking to spread the seed. (Germination 14-21 days). Thin seedlings to 25cm (10") between plants. Can also be sown in August/September for flowering the following year.
