This flamboyant snow pea sports bicolour purple flowers with large, vivid green pods.
Set on vigorous vines, they grow up to 4-5’ tall. The tender green snow pea pods are crisp, stringless and truly delicious, and you’ll find some have a soft pink blush to the tips.
Harvest March-June. Height 100-150cm (39-59"); spread 20-30cm (8-12").
Much like giant mangetout, Snow Pea Green Beauty is one of the earliest peas to grace our plates and certainly one of the most productive.
Either eat when immature (just like a mangetout) or leave for the peas to swell in the pod, giving you huge juicy snow peas.
Snow peas are perfect to snack on, stir fry or eat in salads, and they’re perfect for kids.
Sow thinly directly into moist, weed-free soil at a depth of 5cm (2") in flat drills 15cm (6") wide in two rows with seed approximately 5cm (2") apart. (Germination 7-14 days). Allow 60cm (24") between rows.
Support plants with twiggy sticks or pea netting.
Water well when the crop is in flower. Grows best in a sunny position in well-cultivated soil containing plenty of organic matter.
Sow in intervals during the growing season to ensure a continuous supply of pods.
