Grow this stunning new variety in pots, tubs or even growbags on the patio, where the plants, having minimal tendrils, will cascade and trail, smothered in sweetly scented blooms in a range of exciting flower colours. Alternatively ideal tumbling over the edge of a raised bed or low wall, or for use as summer ground cover in a garden border. Flowers June-August. Height 90-100cm (3'-3'3"); spread 100-150cm (40-59"). Normal sweet peas produce one flower stem and one leaf per flowering point, whereas Fragrant Tumbler will produce two (and sometimes three) flowers, smothering the plants in blooms. Large, frilly, picotee flowers in a rainbow of colours. Perfect for urban gardens and balconies also allow the plants to tumble over walls and balconies. Growing Information For early flowering sow 3 seeds 13mm (½") deep per 10cm (4") pot in a greenhouse or indoors at 13-15C. Plant out in April-May spacing them 15cm (10") apart. Alternatively, sow direct into moist, warm, weed-free soil where they are to flower 13mm deep, in late April-May. Thin seedlings to achieve a final spacing of 15cm (10") between plants. May also be sown in September-October in a cold frame/unheated greenhouse. Plant out young plants in March-April to provide early blooms.
