Suttons Beetroot Seeds Bulls Blood

Approved Suttons Seeds Retailer. Average Packet Contents 250 seeds Enjoy leaves in baby leaf salads or cooked Striking deep red leaves Eat the leaves and the root Easy to grow We love this dual use beet because you can eat the leaves and root. This reselected strain takes the yummy homegrown beetroot back to its true colours and produces those deep red leaves that you just don’t see enough of these days. Beetroot Bull’s Blood can be used for baby leaf salads or use the larger leaves as an alternative to spinach. And then there’s that tender root… Height 30-40cm (12-16"); spread 10-20cm (4-8"). Beetroot’s one of the easiest veggies to grow from seed, and if you’ve yet to try homegrown beets then you’re in for a treat. Beetroot Bull’s Blood is one of our favourite beetroot varieties, and we can’t wait to get it growing in gardens across the county. Choose whether to harvest the leaves earlier for a baby leaf salad or wait until they’re larger and cook them up, but however you like your beetroots, Bull’s Blood makes an ornamental addition to the vegetable patch. Those dark red leaves add a dash of colour to your garden, so this one’s a winner on the dinner table and in the veg patch. Growing Information Sow thinly directly into soil/compost from February-August for baby leaf, protection may be needed at the beginning of the season. Harvest when big enough for baby leaf. Alternatively, for large roots sow seeds 3cm apart, 13mm deep and thin seedlings to final spacings of 5cm apart. Thinned seedlings can also be used in salads.
