Re-sprouting radish tops
Did you know that you can re-grow lots of different vegetables, from carrot tops, to lettuce stumps. Here my guide to re-growing radish tops.
1. Select healthy tops
When preparing your salad and trimming your vegetables and fruits, save the healthy tops to re-grow.
2. Select a suitable plate
Choose a plate that you wont miss for a couple of weeks.
3. Growing media
Select your growing media, here we have used a couple of sheets of folded kitchen roll. Try not to let too much overhang the edge of the plate.
4. Just add water
Water the growing media, remove excess and leave so that the paper is just damp.
5. Plant your tops
Place all the tops on the watered paper so that they are flat and the whole bottom of the radish top is in contacted with the paper and plate.
6. Leave to grow.
Put them in a sunny spot in your kitchen and remember to water regularly. DO NOT LET THEM DRY OUT. You can start harvesting and adding the fresh growth to you salads. A great activity to do with children.
